Danum Valley

The Danum Valley lies in the centre of Borneo and is one of the last places where you can see the primary rainforest. The research and reforestation in Danum alley are financing part of their activities via an Eco-tourist lodge which lies in the heart of the nature reserve.
As some of the walking trails cannot be accessed with a wheelchair, they provided me with my own guide who did smaller trips with me across the reserve and even on a Canopy Walk – which is a wire bridge from one tree to the next…at 70m above the ground! Even though we only could do one bridge, as the bridge was only a few centimetres bigger than my wheelchair, this was one of my top-experiences while travelling! Absolutely mind-blowing….
